Just Saw Dad

Posted by Holly Gaskin on Saturday, November 5, 2011,

Saw Dad today. As always, a bittersweet visit. Pete thought that Dad looked good. I thought that he looked like he'd lost quite a bit of weight. His hair is thinner, almost gone, really. His face still looks the same, perhaps even a little younger than he actually is. I was pleased to see that he had a warm winter coat that looked fairly new. Dad's case worker told them to keep each visit no longer than three hours, because that's about all he can handle mentally/ emotionally. Meanwhile, he gave them a reason why he has stayed away for them for so long... You're gonna have to buy the book (revised version coming in 2011) to find out why!!

Meanwhile, wishing Aunt V and Uncle E a safe trip, and ho...
